In issue 12 of the crop circle journal The Cerealogist (1994), an article was published recounting the experiences of Wiltshire-based parapsychologist Suzanne Padfield.
In the piece (written in the third person) are details of several crop circle sightings in the years 1965 to 1970. Suzanne reports repeat events during the era, which she recalls amounted to one or two circles per year. She remembers that the circles were swirled with sharp edges, and were typically 20 to 30 yards in diameter.
Just to the south of Pepperbox Hill lies Whiteparish where many circles have appeared since. Whiteparish farmer Gordon Sparkes reported to Colin Andrews in 1987 that circles have been seen in the Pepperbox Hill area since at least the 1930s (Circular Evidence page 55), thereby corroborating Suzanne's account.
